FEMUSINDO.com - Jamrud is an Indonesian hard rock and heavy metal music group that was originally formed in Cimahi City under the name Jamrock on January 19, 1984.
Before the first album was released, Jamrock, led by Azis Mangasi Siagian and Ricky Teddy, had experienced several formation changes.
In 1995, the Jamrock formation was Azis Mangasi Siagian (Guitar), Ricky Teddy (Bass), Krisyanto (Vocals), Fitrah Alamsyah (Guitar) and Shandy Handoko (Drums).
During its formation and career, this music group has released 13 studio albums and 5 compilation albums.
Jamrock Becomes Jamrud
On October 25, 1995, the name Jamrock was changed to Jamrud. The reason Jamrock's name was changed to Jamrud was to avoid problems in the future and to make it more pleasant to listen to.
After changing its name to Jamrud, Nekad's first album was released on December 15, 1995 under Logis Records.
In a short time, their first album, Nekad (1995), achieved sales of 150 thousand copies.

Jamrud's success continued with their second album, Putri (1997), which sold 300 thousand copies.
The huge profits from the sales of Jamrud's albums continued until they released the album Terima Kasih (1998).
Formation Changes
In their career, Jamrud themselves had experienced several formation changes before the release of their fourth album.
The album Ningrat (2000) became the peak of their commercial success, recording sales of 2 million copies in Indonesia.
The Ningrat album contains popular songs, such as the singles Surti Tejo, Ningrat, Kabari Aku, Asal British and Pelangi di Matamu.
In 2002, Log Zhelebour brought Jamrud to record at Studio 301 Sydney, Australia, and released the album Sydney 090102.
Recorded Spectacular Sales
The album recorded quite spectacular sales exceeding 1.4 million copies with the hits Waktuku Mandi, Naksir Abis, Kau dan Ibumu, Telat 3 Bulan and Selamat Ulang Tahun.
The album Sydney 090102 (2002) won the award for Best Rock Group at the AMI Award 2002 and Gen-B 2002.
Currently, Jamrud consists of Azis Mangasi Siagian (Guitar), Ricky Teddy (Bass), Krisyanto (Vocals), Danny Rachman (Drums) and Mochamad Irwan (Guitar). (*)
