FEMUSINDO.com - Nidji is a music group from Jakarta that was formed on February 2, 2002. In 2006, they released their first album titled Breakthru.
In their first album there are five singles, namely Sudah,hapus Aku, Bila Aku Jatuh Cinta, Kau dan Aku, and Disco Lazy Time.
Nidji personnel consist of Muhammad Yusuf Nur Ubay (vocals), Andi Ariel Harsya and Ramadhista Akbar (guitars), Randy Danistha (keyboards, synthesizer), Andro Regantoro (bass), and Adri Prakarsa (drums).
Origin of the Word Nidji
Nidji is Van Ophuijsen's spelling of the word Niji which is taken from Japanese which means rainbow.
The personnel have liked and agreed to the concept with the name, because the word Nidji really reflects their diverse and different musical colors, but can refract it in one musical color.

Nidji's musical concept is modern rock that combines other elements, such as progressive, funk, alternative, and pop.
Had a Hiatus
In 2017, after Giring Ganesha decided to enter the world of politics and leave Nidji, the band decided to take a break.
However, the other five Nidji personnel besides Giring, had a project to give birth to NEV+, as an acronym for Nidji Electronic Version Plus. This project was realized in 2018.
Through the Nidji Vocal Hunt audition in early 2019, Muhammad Yusuf Nur Ubay was selected as Nidji's new vocalist to replace Giring who had entered the world of politics.
In addition, Nidji has also starred in Project Pop's video clip entitled "Angkat Dong" and Chrisye's video clip entitled "Lirih". (*)
