Padi Reborn Indonesian Pop Rock Music Group

FEMUSINDO.com - Padi Reborn is an Indonesian pop rock music group that was previously just Padi. Padi was first formed by Fadly and Piyu, a student at Airlangga University, Surabaya, in October 1996 under the name Soda.

Six months later, on April 8, 1997, Piyu invited his friends to form a band again with Ari, Rendra and Yoyo, so that they became five people. Finally, the band was named Padi.

First Album

This music group made their debut in the Indonesian music world in the late 1990s through the single Sobat on the compilation album Indie Ten, which song was also included on their first studio album, Lain Dunia (1999).

In 2001, Padi released their second album,suatu yang tertunda. The album sold 1.6 million copies and was certified 10x Platinum in 2002.

On June 18, 2003, Padi released their third album, Save My Soul. In the song Perbedaan Yang Tertunda, Padi duetted with musician Iwan Fals.

In addition to Iwan Fals, other collaborators on the album include Australian saxophonist Robert Burke and pianist Kiernan Box, Adjie Rao (percussion), and singer Astrid Sartiasari.

Release of New Album

In 2005, Padi released an album titled "Padi" and in 2007 released a new album Tak Hanya Diam which contained 10 songs.

On October 25, 2019, after a hiatus of almost 9 years and a hiatus of 12 years without releasing a new studio album, Padi, currently under the banner of Padi Reborn, released their sixth album titled Indera Keenam.

The personnel of Padi Reborn consist of Ari Tri Sosianto (guitar, backing vocals), Andi Fadly Arifuddin, (vocals), Surendro Prasetyo or Yoyo (drums), Rindra Risyanto Noor (bass, backing vocals), and Satriyo Yudi Wahono or Piyu (guitar, backing vocals). (*)
