Ludwig van Beethoven The Greatest Composer and Important Figure of The Transitional Period



FEMUSINDO.com - Ludwig van Beethoven was a classical composer from Germany. His famous works are the fifth and ninth symphonies, and also the piano song Für Elise.

Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Electorate of Cologne, December 17, 1770 and died in Vienna, Austrian Empire, March 26, 1827.

He is considered one of the greatest composers and an important figure in the transition period between the classical and romantic eras.

A Talented Young Pianist

Beethoven held his first concert on March 26, 1778, but his brilliance was not on par with Mozart at the same age.

However, even so, during his youth he was a talented pianist, popular among important and wealthy people in Vienna, Austria, where he lived. However, in 1801, he began to lose his hearing.

On November 29, 1814, Beethoven staged Fidelio which was a great success. Most of the members of the Vienna Congress attended the opera.

In Disability Continued to Create Music

His deafness became worse and in 1817 he became completely deaf. Although he could no longer play in concerts, he continued to create music.

During this time, he created some of his greatest works. He lived the rest of his life in Vienna and never married.

In 1826, Beethoven suffered from a high fever which turned out to be caused by kidney disease. His illness was incurable and he died on March 26, 1827 at the age of 56. (*)
