Saraswati Goddess of Music in Hinduism, One of The Tridevi

FEMUSINDO.com - Saraswati is the goddess of music in Hinduism. Saraswati is also the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, art, speech, and learning.

Saraswati is one of the Tridevi, the highest divine trinity in Hinduism. The three main goddesses in Hinduism, besides Saraswati, are the other two Goddess Sri (Laksmi) and Goddess Uma (Durga).

Saraswati, the goddess worshiped in this Veda, is a powerful being or companion of the God Brahma, the Creator God.

Saraswati comes from the root word sr which means flowing. In the Rigveda V.75.3, Saraswati is also referred to as the River Goddess, alongside Ganga, Yamuna, Susoma and others.

Saraswati's name is listed in the Rigveda and also in the Purana literature, a collection of Hindu teachings and mythology.

Goddess Saraswati is depicted as a beautiful woman, with smooth and clean skin, a symbol that sacred knowledge will provide beauty within.

Together with Lakshmi and Parvati, Saraswati is often depicted as having four arms and holding a musical instrument called a veena.

Saraswati can be depicted sitting or standing on a lotus flower, and there is also a swan which is her sacred vehicle or vehicle.

In Indonesia, Goddess Saraswati as the Goddess of Knowledge and Arts, is celebrated by Hindus in Bali, which falls on the day of Saniscara (Saturday) Umanis (Legi), wuku Watugunung.

This celebration is held every 210 days (or 7 months according to the Balinese calendar), as a tribute to the goddess of knowledge and arts. (*)
