FEMUSINDO.com - Wayne Lim Junjie, better known as JJ Lin, is a Singaporean singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur and novelist.
Born in Singapore on March 27, 1981, Lin began his music career by releasing his debut album, Music Voyager, in 2003.
At the age of 22, JJ Lin signed a contract with Ocean Butterflies International to launch his debut album.
Receive Awards and Break Guinness Records
JJ Lin has received three Golden Melody Awards, including one for Best New Artist and two for Best Mandarin Male Singer.
In addition to writing and singing his own songs, he also wrote songs for various music artists when he was still a trainee at Ocean Butterflies under his mentors, Billy Koh and Sunkist Ng.
In total, he has written more than a hundred songs for other artists. Lin has sold 1 million copies in less than a week and has been very successful throughout Asia.
In July 2007, he broke the Guinness record by signing 3,052 CDs in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
During the signing, he was not allowed to drink or eat. The average time for him to sign a CD was 2.7 seconds.
Earning Highest Royalty Revenue
In May 2009, Lin won three awards at the 14th annual Composers and Authors Society of the UK (Compass) Awards Presentations, an event that honors performers in the music scene.
The event was held at the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore.
He was honored with the Top Local Artiste of the Year award, which is given to the Singaporean artist who earns the highest royalty revenue for the year. That same year, Lin won the Singapore Youth Award.
In addition to Mandarin, Lin also sings in English, Hokkien and Cantonese using the Romanized pronunciation system and has released songs in Cantonese.
On October 20, 2021, Lin released his first album of English songs, titled "Like You Do". He also collaborated with British singer Anne-Marie in producing the song "Bedroom". (*)
