Mythology and Its Relationship to Music

Mythology has several types, including pure Myth, Heroic Saga and Folk tale.

Pure Myth, namely science and religion in the primitive era that tells about the universe, natural disasters, and God.

Heroic Saga, namely the story of the life journey of someone who performs heroic actions.

Folk Tale, which is a local folk or ethnic story that is passed down by word of mouth.

Some of the world's famous mythologies include Greek mythology, Norse mythology, and Roman mythology.

Then, is there a relationship between mythology and music? The answer is yes. In some mythologies, such as Greek and Roman mythology, there are gods and goddesses of music.

In Greek and Roman mythology, Apollo is the god of music. Meanwhile, the Greek goddesses of music include Musai, Calliope, and Euterpe.

Meanwhile, the Chinese gods of music include Han Xiang Zi, Fuxi, and SunĂ¼. In Japanese mythology, Benzaiten is the goddess of music and patron of the arts.

Not only that, in the mythology of several other countries there are also gods and goddesses of music with different names and characters. (*)
