FEMUSINDO.com - Christopher John Cornell (born Christopher John Boyle), better known as Chris Cornell, was born in Seattle, Washington, United States, July 20, 1964.
He is an American musician known as the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and main lyricist for the rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave.
He also has a solo career and has contributed to many film soundtracks. Cornell is the founder and frontman of Temple of the Dog, a one-time tribute band dedicated to his late friend, musician Andrew Wood.

Several music journalists, fan polls, and fellow musicians consider Cornell to be one of the greatest rock singers of all time.
Cornell is considered a key figure in the 1990s grunge movement with a history of extensive songwriting, a vocal range of nearly four octaves, and a strong vocal belt technique.
Cornell released four solo studio albums, Euphoria Morning (1999), Carry On (2007), Scream (2009), and Higher Truth (2015) and the live album Songbook (2011).
He also has two compilation albums, The Roads We Choose (2007) and Chris Cornell (2018), the latter released posthumously.
Received Golden Globe Award Nominations
He received a Golden Globe Award nomination for his song "The Keeper", which appeared in the 2011 film Machine Gun Preacher.
Cornell co-wrote and performed "You Know My Name", the theme song for the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale.
His final solo release before his death was the charity single "The Promise", written for the closing credits of the 2016 film of the same name.
Cornell sold 14.8 million albums, 8.8 million digital songs, and 300 million on-demand audio streams in the US alone, as well as over 30 million records worldwide.
Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalists of All Time
Cornell was ranked #4 on Hit Parader's list of the "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalists of All Time" and #9 on Rolling Stone's list of the "Greatest Lead Singers of All Time".
He was later ranked #80 on Rolling Stone's list of the "200 Greatest Singers of All Time", and #12 on MTV's "22 Greatest Voices in Music".
In a poll, Guitar World readers voted him "Rock's Greatest Singer".
Cornell struggled with depression for most of his life. He was found dead in his Detroit hotel room in the early hours of May 18, 2017, after performing at a Soundgarden concert an hour earlier at the Fox Theatre. (*)
