Stevie Wonder: Singer, Songwriter, Record Producer and Social Activist

FEMUSINDO.com - Stevland Morris or his stage name Stevie Wonder, was born in Saginaw, Michigan, USA, on May 13, 1950, with the name Stevland Judkins.

He was born prematurely in Saginaw, Michigan, with mother Lula Mae Hardaway. It is possible that he got too much oxygen in his incubator, and this caused his blindness.

Hardaway taught her other children to treat Steveland like everyone else, not to tease or help him too much.

Little Stevland Judkins began learning to sing and play musical instruments in church from an early age, especially the piano, conga and harmonica.

His Career in the Music World

In his career in the music world, Stevie Wonder is known as a singer, songwriter, record producer, and social activist from the United States.

Most of the songs performed by Stevie Wonder who has other names Stevland Hardaway Morris, Little Stevie Wonder and Eivets Rednow are in the genre of Soul, pop, R&B, funk and jazz.

He has recorded more than 30 top 10 hits, won 21 Grammy Awards a record for a solo artist and one for the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996.

Stevie Wonder has won an Oscar for Best Song and entered the Rock and Roll and Songwriters Halls of fame. (*)
