According to its meaning, a solo singer is a singer who sings one part or an entire musical work alone. In musical performances, solo singers are also called soloists.

The word "solo" comes from Italian which means "alone". Solo singers can perform alone or accompanied by accompanying instruments such as piano or organ or a musical group.
