FEMUSINDO.com - /rif ---short for rhythm in freedom, is an Indonesian rock music group founded in Bandung, West Java Province on April 1, 1995.
This pop rock, alternative rock, hard rock, glam rock and alternative metal group consists of Andy (vocals), Jikun (guitar), Maggi (drums), Ovy (guitar) and Teddy (bass).
Until now /rif has produced 7 music albums plus 1 album containing a collection of the best songs from /rif.
Badai Band Before Becoming /rif
Before becoming /rif, this band was called Badai Band, which was formed in 1991. At that time, Badai had 6 members.
After experiencing personnel changes, in 1995 Badai Band changed to /rif (rhythm in freedom), with a slash at the beginning of their name.
In 1997, /rif, under the label Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia, released its first album entitled Radja and launched the hit with the same title Radja.
Released Several Albums
In October 1998, /rif launched its second album, Salami, an album full of moral content to care for nature.
Two years later, in April 2000, their third album entitled Senang Aja was launched.
Several years later, in 2002, they released their fourth album entitled ... Dan Duniapun Tersenyum.
In mid-2002, Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia again gave the single "Dunia" the opportunity to fill the soundtrack for the film Spiderman.
Although limited to local editions, their names have successfully been paired with international musicians such as Aerosmith & Sum 41.
Create Albums and Current Personnel
Next, in succession in different years /rif released albums, respectively Pil Malu (2006), 7 (2010), 18 Years Of Rock (2013) and Get Closer with /rif (2023).
Currently, /rif personnel consist of five people, Restu Triandy - vocals (1991-present) and Adjie Pamungkas - lead guitar, backing vocals (1994-present)
Then, Maggi Trisandi - drums, backing vocals (1994-present), Noviar Rachmanayah - second guitar, backing vocals (2003-present) and Asep Teddy Tresnadi - bass, backing vocals (2012-present). (*)
