FEMUSINDO.com - World Music Awards (WMA) or World Music Awards is an international music awards event.
This annual event, which was formed in 1989, is given to recording artists based on the number of album sales in the world, calculated by the Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
The award is also the first award in the world to provide an award concept to every singer with the most album sales in every country in the world.
Executive Producer and Co-founder of this event, John Martinotti. This award event is under the protection of Prince Albert of Monaco, Monte-Carlo.
The prestigious event has been broadcast all over the world with the number of viewers reaching one billion in 160 countries.
In Indonesia, the 2008 WMA event was broadcast by the Indosiar TV station. Among the companies that contributed to the publication of WMA is The International Academy of Music Arts and Sciences.

The artist who has won the most awards is Mariah Carey with a total of 19 WMA trophies. While in second place is Michael Jackson with 15 WMA trophies.
Whitney Houston is recorded as the artist with the most wins in 1 year, namely at the 1994 WMA with 5 trophies.
In the 2014 event, Agnez Mo became the first Indonesian female singer to receive an award at this event.
Meanwhile, Anggun C Sasmi, a singer from Indonesia who has become a French citizen, has received four awards and appeared at this event and received an award. (*)
