FEMUSINDO.com - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a museum located on the shores of Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio, United States (US).
This place is dedicated to recording the history of artists, producers, and people who are very famous and have a very big influence in the music industry, especially for the rock and roll genre.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was first formed on April 20, 1983. Cleveland was then chosen as the place where the museum was established.
The idea for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was initiated by the founder of Atlantic Records and R&B producer, Ahmet Ertegun.
Artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame must have a significant influence and have had a career of at least 25 years since recording their first album.
The criteria include the influence and significance of the artist's contribution to the development and preservation of rock and roll.
The first induction took place on January 23, 1986. The first group of inductees included Elvis Presley, James Brown, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Sam Cooke, the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Of the hundreds of artists, Eric Clapton is the most inducted artist into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, having been inducted three times.
Eric Clapton is a consistent hitmaker. In addition, Eric Clapton is one of the greatest guitarists of all time --- perhaps that's why he is the only person to be inducted into the Rock Hall three times. (*)
