FEMUSINDO.com - Tipe-X is a Ska band that won the Favorite Band award at the Alternative Music Festival in Menteng, Jakarta, Indonesia, in 1995.
The forerunner of Tipe-X was previously called "Headmaster" from 1992 to 1995. They just changed their name to "Tipe-X" which was officially formed on September 10, 1995.
Currently, Tipe-X consists of 6 personnel, namely Tresno Riadi (vocals), Billy (guitar), Yoss (guitar), Micky (Bass), Anto (trombone) and Arie Hardjo (drums), Agung Athaya (Flute).
Release Albums
Tipe-X has released 7 albums, including SKA Phobia (1999), Mereka Tak Pernah Mengerti (2001), Super Suprise (2003) and Discography Hitam Putih (2005).
Then, Compilation Album/The Best A Journey (2007), Festival Merasa (2009) under Michelin Records and SEVEN (2012) under Off The Records, which is now known as Bahaya Records.
Tipe-X's first album titled SKA Phobia was released in 1999 with the singles Genit and Angan with the Pops Musik label. In this album there are 10 songs with 3 songs in English.

The second album titled Mereka Tak Pernah Mengerti in 2001 they released with 10 songs. This album was awarded Triple Platinum.
Tipe-X's third album titled Super Suprise was released in 2003 with the singles Karena Cemburu, Gombal and Pacar Yang Baik.
Coinciding with Tipe-X's 10th anniversary, in 2005 they released their fourth album which was still produced by Pops Musik.
This fourth album presents 10 songs which rely on the song Kamu Ngga Sendirian as the first single and Mawar Hitam as the second single.
Compilation Album
Tipe-X's fifth album is a compilation album entitled A Journey which they released in 2007. This best album sold more than 120,000 copies.
Songs that were famous in the 90s, such as "Sakit Hati", "Genit", "Salam Rindu" and "Mawar Hitam" became their mainstay songs. The rest, new concoctions including "Kamu Penipu" which was made the first single of this album.
The sixth album entitled Festival Merasa, Tipe-X collaborated with a Canadian singer, Chelssie Baker, who also sang songs in Indonesian.
Collaboration and Awards
In addition to collaborating with Chelssie Baker in the making of their sixth album, Tipe-X also involved several supporting musicians, one of whom was Marcell Siahaan (Marcell).
Tipe-X's seventh album, SEVEN, was released in October 2012 with a combination of various types of music. There are 10 songs on this album.
During their career, Tipe-X received awards, including the AMI Award for Best Ska Album, the AMI Award for Best Reggae/Ska/Rocksteady Production Work and an AMI Award nomination for Best Ska Album. (*)
