FEMUSINDO.com - Established since July 8, 1996, Ungu --- previously named Glasses, is a rock music group from Jakarta, Indonesia. This music group has released eight studio albums, nine religious albums, and 18 compilation albums.
Having experienced several formation changes, since 2003 Ungu consists of Pasha (vocalist). Enda (guitar), Oncy (guitar), Makki (Bass), and Rowman (drums).
Ungu began performing from stage to stage of art performances around the Tebet area in 1996. In 2000, Ungu received an offer to fill a compilation album Klik with other music groups.
Album Release
On July 6, 2002 Ungu released their debut album entitled Laguku. The first single on my album, "Bayang Semu" became the theme song for the soap opera ABG (RCTI).
Although it was quite successful, this album only received a Platinum Award after almost 2 years of its release. On this album, Ungu collaborated with Hemaswara Record.

Ungu's name skyrocketed through their hit singles, such as "Laguku", "Karena Dia Kamu", "Demi Waktu", "Berikan Aku Cinta", "Kekasih Gelapku", "Cinta Dalam Hati", "Tercipta Untukku", "Hampa Hatiku", "Dia atau Diriku", "I Need You" and "Dirimu Satu".
Not only that, Ungu also gained popularity in Malaysia around 2006 when they released their single "Demi Waktu", followed by their third album Melayang (2006).
Release Studio Session
In February 2016, Ungu's vocalist, Pasha was elected as Deputy Mayor of Palu. The vocalist position was temporarily filled by Enda and Oncy until Pasha's term ended in 2021.
After almost 7 years of not releasing an album, on September 2, 2022 Ungu released an album in the form of a physical audio CD.
During 2022-2024, Ungu released and uploaded Studio Session teasers (2.0-4.0) whose songs can be enjoyed on various digital music platforms. (*)
