FEMUSINDO.com - Kusbini is an Indonesian singer and composer, who is also one of the Heroes of Independence.
Kusbini was born in Kemlagi Village, Mojokerto, East Java, January 1, 1910 and died in Yogyakarta, February 28, 1991 at the age of 81.
He is known as a legendary keroncong music figure from 1930 - 1955, along with Annie Landouw, Gesang, S. Abdoellah, Miss Roekiah and others.
Keroncong music which became a place for him to express his spirit of struggle through the world of music was successfully accepted by Indonesian society.
Actively Singing and Playing Music
During the Dutch East Indies, in addition to creating the song Kr. Purbakala, he also rewrote (transcribed) the keroncong songs Telomoyo, Moresko, Nina Bobo, and others.
Together with Mrs. Sued (Saridjah Niung), Kusbini created various songs that aroused passion, enthusiasm and ideals for the freedom of the country and its people.
His works, such as Bagimu Negeri, Bersatu, Nyanyian Bunga, Cinta Tanah Air, Pembangunan and others.
Created Compulsory Struggle Songs and Wrote Books
His song "Bagimu Negeri" is a mandatory struggle song that he created in 1942 and was designated as a national song in 1960.
In his old age, Kusbini wrote several books, including Kumpulan Lagu-lagu Keroncong Indonesia and Sejarah Seni Musik Keroncong Indonesia.
Then, he also wrote the books Biktat Gitar, Diktat Vokal, Teori Musik, Diktat Viool and Pelajaran Bass.
In addition, he received several awards, such as Pembina Musik Keroncong Indonesia (P and K in 1972) and Medali Arati Bayangkara (from Korwil II, 1976).
Now, his name is immortalized at Raden Kusbini International Airport, Pandeglang and there is a statue of Raden Kusbini near Raden Kusbini International Airport, Pandeglang. (*)
