FEMUSINDO.com - Peter Gene Hernandez, known professionally as Bruno Mars, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and dancer.
Bruno Mars was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, October 8, 1985, and moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to pursue his music career.
After being dropped from Motown Records, Mars signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 2009.
That same year, he co-founded a production team called The Smeezingtons, which was responsible for successful singles for Mars himself and other artists.
In 2016, Shampoo Press & Curl replaced The Smeezingtons on the composition of Mars' third studio album, 24K Magic.
Single Releases and Fame
Mars rose to fame in 2010 with the release of the hit singles "Nothin' on You" by B.o.B and "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy, which featured Mars' vocals.
His debut studio album Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010) peaked at number three on the US Billboard 200 and topped the charts in Canada, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK.
The album spawned the number-one hits "Just the Way You Are", "Grenade" and "The Lazy Song".
His song "Just the Way You Are", won a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
Number One on the US Billboard Hot 100
In 2011, Mars recorded the single "It Will Rain" for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.
Mars' second album, Unorthodox Jukebox (2012), peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, and the UK, winning a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
Singles from the album, "Locked Out of Heaven" and "When I Was Your Man", reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Collaborations and Chart Toppers
In 2014, Mars collaborated with Mark Ronson on "Uptown Funk", which topped numerous charts around the world, including the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.
The song won two Grammys, including Record of the Year. His third studio album, the R&B-focused 24K Magic (2016), debuted at number two in the United States, Canada, and New Zealand.
