Sheila Majid, who was born in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, on January 3, 1965, started to become popular in Indonesia since she was launched by Oddie Agam in the mid-1980s.
At that time, she sang a song created by Oddie Agam entitled "Antara Anyer dan Jakarta". She is also known for her hit song in 1986, "Sinaran".
