Bon Jovi, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame



FEMUSINDO.com - Bon Jovi is a rock band from the United States (US), precisely from Sayreville, New Jersey, which was formed in 1983.

Bon Jovi consists of vocalist with the same name 'Jon Bon Jovi' (John Francis Bongiovi, Jr), guitarist Richie Stephen Richard Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres and bassist Hugh McDonald.

The band's lineup has remained largely the same throughout their history, with the exception of the departure of Alec John Such in 1994, who was unofficially replaced by Hugh McDonald, and the departure of guitarist and co-songwriter Richie Sambora in 2013.

Recognized for Writing Rock Songs

The band became known for writing several rock songs, and achieved widespread recognition with their third album Slippery When Wet, released in 1986, followed by the success of their fourth album, New Jersey in 1988.

After touring and recording non-stop throughout the 1980s, the band went on hiatus following the New Jersey Tour in 1990.


During this time Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora released successful solo albums. In 1992, Bon Jovi returned with the album Keep The Faith.

In 2000 they released the single "It's My Life", which followed a second hiatus, successfully introducing the band to a younger audience.

Use Different Styles

Bon Jovi uses different styles in their music, such as the song "country" in 2007 on the album Lost Highway.

The album The Circle, was released on November 10, 2009 in the United States. March 12, 2013 Bon Jovi released the studio album What About Now.

Throughout their career, the band has released 13 studio albums, three compilation albums and one live album, and has sold 130 million albums worldwide.

They have performed over 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries to over 34 million fans, and were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

Inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame

The band was also honored with the Award of Merit at the American Music Awards in 2004, and as songwriters and collaborators, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora were inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame in 2009.

On September 28, 2010, Bon Jovi was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but on December 15, 2010 it was announced that Bon Jovi would not make it.

Finally, in 2018 Bon Jovi was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was the first time Bon Jovi performed with a full line-up on stage. 

They consisted of Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Tico Torres, David Bryan, Alec John Such, Hugh Mcdonald, Phil X and John Shank and Everett Bradley.

The full lineup performed 4 songs, each "You Give Love a Bad Name," "It's My Life," "When We Were Us" and "Livin' on a Prayer." (*)
